The Truth . . .about why I must leave Alaska.

Too much good food!!!    Sarah and Rosie have been cooking up a storm and I have been the lucky recipient.  Of course, I keep forgetting to take pictures until after dinner but some of the great meals we have had the last couple of weeks include:

1.  Fresh salmon, salad and broccoli - delish!!!

Happy Birthday, Rosie!
2.  Rosies birthday dinner - spaghetti and carrot cake (made by Sarah and I). We also enjoyed a bottle of wine I bought in the Napa Valley.

After enjoying the birthday dinner, we played Monopoly.  I had to show those two a thing or two:):)  Tip:  Always buy the railroads!!!!

3.  Chicken, squash, corn and baked potatoes after a day of shopping.  Again, excellent:)  Maybe this was the night we played monopoly - can't remember but I still WON!!

4.  Eggplant parmesan, pasta, asparagus and cheese cake with blueberry topping- yummy!!!  Forgot about taking pictures until it was time for cheesecake.

And those were just the dinners!  Last Sunday morning, Rosie made her famous German pancakes!  I had never had these before and they were really good.  Sarah made mimosas that morning!!!  They also tried the new juicer for the first time.  Sarah juiced up a watermelon and some strawberries.  Really good but by that time I was full:)

Since I knew I was leaving soon, I have tried some of the local specialties - such as fish and chips and salmon chowder.  Then there was the "Hot Bite" out at  Auke Bay Harbor - famous for their burgers and shakes.  We checked that out last Saturday.  But, when the ice cream shop started giving me the "locals discount",  I knew I was in trouble and had better hit the road!!!!

Honestly, I will be walking laps around that ferry on the way "down south".  My clothes still fit - not sure why:):)
