Mother/Daughter Weekend with Janet

Janet and I decided it was time for another Mother/Daughter weekend.  We first thought about going to the beach but so did everybody else in TN and AL.  We regrouped and came up with Plan B.  Chattanooga!!!  A new place for me and I had heard great things about the area.  Chattanooga was even on my "relocate" list at one time.  Janet and Nick had been on a "day trip" so she was game for a repeat.  We stayed in the downtown "area" not right downtown like the website led me to believe but it worked okay.  Chattanooga is a 1.5-2.0 drive for both of us so we met at the hotel in time for dinner Friday night.  After taking the trolley to town, we had dinner at the Blue Water Grill and walked around a little.
Walnut Street Bridge

Walkway beneath bridge
Saturday morning we headed back to the downtown area and had a full day!  We started by walking across the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge.  Beautiful views and I got to add another bridge to my "bridge walking" adventures.  The art district was a fun place to walk around.  We walked across the "glass bridge", admired the great sculptures, and admired the quaint houses and great architecture.

Tourists that we were, we went on a luncheon boat cruise on the Tennessee River.  Very relaxing and learned some TN history.  When we docked, we headed back to the Art District for an ice cream cone and then visited the Tennessee Aquarium.

Penguins at the Aquarium
Headed back to the hotel for a brief break!  Very brief!  Janet got on the internet and found some things she wanted to do on the North Shore so we headed out before they closed.

Wine & Tapas!!!!

We went to a great antique store housed in an old warehouse.  Lots of great things - Janet found a really cute caddie she bought.  There was also a design store having a "moving sale" - oh my:)  I found the perfect euro shams for my bedroom makeover (blog post soon) and a gorgeous mirror  for Janet and Nick's new house.     Janet found some glass vases, etc. for the new house.  Time for dinner!  Janet had done her research and we ate at a wine and tapas bar on the North Shore.  Really a fun day with my daughter.
Top of the incline

Sunday morning we slept late, ate breakfast and headed to the "incline" on Lookout Mountain.   We decided to call it a day and both headed for home with plans for more Mother/Daughter weekends.  Next time we need Sarah and Leigh Anne!!!

Looks a great weekend! I'm wondering if bicycle riding is allowed on that winding walkway beneath the bridge? Wouldn't that be a fun challenge?!

Isn't it a little hot for camping? You are turning into a read hard core outdoorswoman.
