Eugene, Oregon and PR Friends

After meeting Doug and Leigh Anne for one last breakfast at the Guerillia Cafe on Monday morning and some assistance from Doug in getting my bike in the car, I headed north to Eugene, Oregon.  For some reason, I wasn't expecting such a gorgeous drive along the interstate route.    Beautiful!  But some road signs do put the "fear" in this flatlander!!!  A couple that caught my eye were "highest elevation on I-5" and "runaway truck lane ahead".  Great - besides trying to see the scenery, watching the road, etc,  I had to watch for the "runaway trucks":)

Tuesday I met two of my Pattern Review friends IRL (in real life).   Doug thought this was a little strange but we have all been on the same sewing website for several years and "know" each other online. Oddly, Patti and I missed meeting each other in Amsterdam by just a couple of days last summer.  Leah used to live in Corpus Christi and we tried to meet also but it never seemed to work out.  So, I just drove to Eugene to make it happen!   Patti picked me up at the hotel Tuesday morning and we met Leah for breakfast.  While Leah was at her voice lesson (sings beautifully!!), Patti took me for a walk along the Willamette River.  It was beautiful and one of the places I wanted to see.  This walk is frequently mentioned in one of the series of mysteries I like to read.   We also stopped in at a really nice local fabric store before meeting up with Leah again.  We visited several other local spots and stopped for coffee and cake.  It is spring in Eugene and the flowers are blooming.  Patti dropped me back off at the hotel later in the afternoon.   Ball games were cancelled for Leah's boys because of the rain so we met again in the evening for pizza.  The boys played while Leah and I discussed patterns and fabrics and all kinds of other stuff.  


Leah turned around and took me back so I could get a picture of this sign!

This was my first visit to Oregon so I checked another state off the list.  I want to visit all 50!!!
