Happy Birthday Leigh Anne!
Today (April 24th) is Leigh Anne's 25th birthday! The celebration included having a few friends over for dinner and a song fest. Rob and Anna were there and Rob brought his guitar and played. Margaret and her daughter, Mercy, are from Kenya and rode the train down from Sacramento. Mercy is receiving treatment at the Shriners' Burn Hospital. They have been in the United States for one year and may be here two more years. Father James, a Kenyan priest, and good friend of Doug and Leigh Anne's also came but was called away before the singing began. Leigh Anne and I had cooked, baked and cleaned on Friday so all was ready. Doug even had some cupcakes/candles to celebrate his birthday next Saturday (May 1).
Margaret and Mercy spent the night so they could go to church and a movie with Leigh Anne on Sunday. Leigh Anne will drive them back to Sacramento Sunday afternoon (with me tagging along). Doug is back in the "study mode" with finals coming up soon.

Happy Birthday Leigh Anne! Sounds like fun...I am wondering what your m-i-l sang during the song fest :) See you guys soon!
She gets an F for effort from me. Didn't even open her mouth. I on the other hand at least tried. Probably give myself and "A" for effort and "A+" for actual singing talent. I don't know if you have heard me sing before but I am pretty awesome.
Hey, somebody had to listen and applaud! Doug has the same talent as most of the Chance family:):)
My trick is to stand by the good/loud singers and pretend to harmonize with them :) I can clap real good too!
It sounds like a fabulous time! Are those german chocolate cupcakes?
Happy Birthday Leigh Anne! Happy almost Birthday Doug! I'm sure Peggy sang year after year for you, Doug, you were just too little to remember ;)
Becki - yes German Chocolate!
Leah - he doesn't want to remember:) Trust me, I cannot sing!!
